Scoring Methodology
Last updated: September 2026
Every product on IdeaXPro receives a score out of 10. This page explains exactly how that number is built, so a "9.3" means the same thing wherever you see it on the Site.
1. Weighted Criteria
Each score is a weighted composite of five criteria:
| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| Pricing & Value | 25% |
| Ease of Use | 20% |
| Features & Capabilities | 25% |
| Customer Support | 15% |
| Free Plan / Trial Availability | 15% |
2. What Each Criterion Measures
- Pricing & Value: published price relative to the features included at that tier, compared against direct category competitors.
- Ease of Use: onboarding friction, interface clarity, and the learning curve for a non-technical user.
- Features & Capabilities: breadth and depth of functionality relevant to the category (e.g. automation depth for marketing tools, pipeline flexibility for CRMs).
- Customer Support: available support channels (chat, email, phone), documentation quality, and typical response expectations as published by the vendor.
- Free Plan / Trial Availability: whether a product can be evaluated risk-free before payment, and how usable that free tier actually is.
3. Verification and Re-Scoring
Scores are based on the vendor's official pricing and feature pages at the time of research. We periodically re-verify pricing and feature listings (reflected in the "Pricing Verified" indicator shown across the Site) and adjust scores when a vendor materially changes their offering.
4. Independence From Commissions
IdeaXPro participates in affiliate and partner programs, including through Impact.com and the PartnerStack marketplace (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Commission availability, commission rate, or partnership status has no bearing on the weighting above or the score assigned to any product — the same five criteria are applied identically to every listing, sponsored relationship or not.
5. Limitations
Scores reflect our research at the time of publication and are one input among several you should use — not a substitute for testing a product yourself against your specific requirements.
